Golf

Warm temperatures all year round and lush landscape are some of the compelling factors that contribute to make Madeira a golf destination, across borders sought by professionals and fans of the sport.

The three fields of this archipelago and the unique and amazing scenery have to offer different challenges.

Situated 500 m above sea level, the Palheiro Golf provides you spectacular views over Funchal. This field was created by Cabell Robinson and opened in 1993 with 18 holes. In 2003 the field has changed, where two holes have been replaced and was created an academic course of 6 holes.

Santo da Serra , besides the magnificent view to the east and the Desert Islands, is the official host of the Madeira Island Open. With four tees options on each hole, the player encounters various levels of play that could be translated either a simple relaxing game as a major challenge.

Two and a half hours by ferry (or 15 minutes by plane), you can find the Porto Santo Golf. It is the current home of the EPGA Madeira Open and is one of the best courses in Europe.
